Why Fiscal Harmony

June 29, 2021

From time to time, clients and colleagues ask me why I named my practice Fiscal Harmony.

The name comes from my love and understanding of music and my desire to help my clients find a harmonious relationship with their money and financial goals. Much like a musical score, various elements have to be in alignment to achieve Fiscal Harmony. There has to be a plan.

Creating beautiful music is both art and science, but it is actually more science than most people realize.

Did you know that a D note tunes to a different frequency in the key of G that the key of C? “D” works differently as the music evolves in key changes.

Many of the families and business owners I serve have changing environments we need to manage money around.

Beethoven, Bach and Berlioz all wrote beautiful music, but their music is markedly different and unique.

Each family I serve is unique and requires different instrumentation for success. Creating true Fiscal Harmony means that there is not “one size fits all” portfolio. No two client plans are alike.

Music has a balance. If you tighten a string on a guitar or violin too fast it breaks. It’s best to take small steps and recognize that in different environments your stringed instrument will tune slightly differently.

Orchestrating Fiscal Harmony is about a lot of little things at the same time. The plan is a bit like a musical score, the investments like the notes, key changes, tuning and other elements that make the score work.

If it’s time for you to work with a financial planner who considers all the elements of your life to create a financial plan for you, give me a call.

Being recognized is always nice, but the real blessing is serving families and helping them on the path to fiscal harmony in their lives.
