“It takes as much energy to wish as it does to plan.”
– Eleanor Roosevelt
In my ten plus years in the industry, the number one problem I see repeatedly is investments with no actual plan. It feels a bit like a jigsaw puzzle that has been scattered on the ground with pieces everywhere. Investments executed in absence of a plan can have long reaching implications, including lost time, which is critical.
Early in my career, I met with a very successful young entrepreneur. She was unmarried with no children and generating approximately $350k in revenue yearly. She was in a perfect position to open a solo 401k, fund her retirement, and reduce her taxes. Except that wasn’t what happened. Before she and I began working together, she had been convinced to use cash value life insurance as an executive perk with after tax money instead of using a 401k. Based on 2015 tax tables, that meant an ordinary income tax bill of roughly $95,000, and that didn’t even include payroll taxes. Compounding is your greatest friend in accumulating wealth, and missteps can have far reaching implications.
Experiences like this drive our “why” and also help us build tactics with financial planning services that are customized to each unique client’s needs. In 2022, we are expanding our flat fee planning services so that we can help more families be financially independent through sound planning followed by sound investment advice. We’ve also added to our team to help us serve more of you! I know you will love Daniel Klein as much as we already do!
Does this resonate with you? We’d love to talk.

2021 Five Star Wealth Manager
Once again, I am honored to be named a Five Star Wealth Manager by Texas Monthly. Nearly 4,000 Dallas-Fort Worth wealth managers were considered for the award; ten percent of these candidates were named 2021 Five Star Wealth Managers. Being recognized is always nice, but the real blessing is serving families and helping them on the path to fiscal harmony in their lives.
