A note from our founder:
Those annoying spam calls may just be more damaging than you think. Numerous news agencies on July 10th, 2025 reported that an AI impersonator posed as secretary of state Marco Rubio, contacting numerous foreign and US officials in messaging apps, and in two cases replicated his voice and left voicemails.
What can you do to protect you and your family?
1. Several apps can help detect and block spam calls. They are a great tool. If you are traveling to see family members this holiday season; perhaps you can assist your less tech savvy family members install them on their phones as well.
2. Don’t answer calls labeled spam and encourage elderly family members in particular to screen their calls.
It can happen so quickly even in families that are prepared.
3. Don’t reply to any text message that looks suspicious. When in doubt delete!
